Remember
a veteran with a memorial engraving
Remember a veteran - living or deceased - by having
the individual's name engraved on the wall or a paver brick of the
new Veterans Memorial at ResurrectionCemetery, Lenexa, KS. The new
memorial will be dedicated on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.
The
memorial includes monuments and flags representing the five branches
of the United States Armed Forces - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines
and Coast Guard. The monuments feature etched granite replicas of
each service's emblem. Connecting the five monuments are granite
walls on which veterans' names will be engraved for a donation.
Other memorial giving opportunities include the flagpoles, granite
monuments and benches.
The cemetery has also dedicated a section adjacent to the memorial
with 352 spaces for burial of veterans and their spouses. Burial
space in this section is available at no charge to veterans. The
veteran is responsible for expenses associated with opening and
closing the gravesite, the vault and a setting fee for the marker;
the U.S. government furnishes the grave marker. For additional fees,
the veteran's spouse can acquire adjoining space and cover expenses
associated with the opening, closing, vault and marker.
