In light of the Kansas Bishops' recent "Catholic Declaration of Life and Natural Death," staff of Catholic Cemeteries will be making a timely presentation on "Options and obligations at end of life: the Catholic Church on burial and cremation." The session is scheduled Thursday, March 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at St. Pius X Church, 56th and Woodson, Mission, Kan.

Hosted by the Knights of Columbus Bishop Miege Council, this presentation is open to parishioners of St. Pius and surrounding parishes, family members and friends. Topics will include the Catholic Church's teaching on death and dying; what to do when a family member passes away (how to work with the funeral home and cemetery); obligations at the end of life; options for burial; cremation as an option; costs; and services of Catholic cemeteries.

Bill Riley, Catholic Cemeteries sales/marketing manager, said that a similar program offered last year was so well received that the Knights of Columbus scheduled another presentation. Catholic Cemeteries' staff has expanded on themes based on their extensive experience working with families. Call 913-371-4040 for more information.
