About
the Infant of Prague
The Catholic Church has had a longstanding tradition of devotion
to the Child Jesus. The history of the Infant Jesus of Prague started
in the 17th century when a statue of the Child Jesus was brought
into Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) and eventually given to the
Discalced Carmelites in Prague, the capitol city. Since then, the
statue has remained in Prague and has drawn many pilgrims from around
the worldwide.
